T he Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton is a great day out for aviation and naval history enthusiasts. Amongst the highlights are the recreation of a working flight deck from the 1970s, with an interactive tour through the flight operations rooms. You can also go aboard a prototype Concorde and walk around the huge variety of airframes which have been used by the Royal Navy since the First World War. On a weekday the non-museum part of the base is often busy with modern day helicopter activity and there is a covered viewpoint to let you see what’s going on. Yeovilton is also the home of a wonderful air display, usually held in mid June.
